Yesterday during lunch in the quad, Del Mar students met with therapy dogs from Therapy Dog Alliance. These friendly and furry pups came in the spirit of Stress-less Week as the first semester draws to a close.

Therapy Dog Alliance brought four dogs: two black labrador retrievers named Lazlo and Guava, a poodle named Rhyder, and a cockapoo named Brutus. Students had a great time getting to know each one of them and giving lots of cuddles.

“It’s cool you get to pet the dogs, definitely gets your mind off all the homework you need to do,” says Parker Hansen Pedford, a junior.

“In general, in this day and age, it’s nice to have reduced stress,” said Catherine Hall, a member of Therapy Dog Alliance and owner of Lazlo. “So, dogs definitely provide just, that unconditional love and make you feel like you’re important.”

If you missed the therapy dogs yesterday, they will return on Monday the 16th to help relieve a little more stress before the beginning of finals.
