Noah Oliveira, a 16-year-old junior player on the Del Mar varsity Basketball team, became interested in basketball through his cousins in Brazil in 2019. He wasn’t good at the beginning but got better and better.
He practices daily with the Varsity Basketball team, except on Sundays. “I also like to go to the gym, but not with a ball,” Noah explains.
He confidently said his best strengths on the court are defense and driving.
Although defense is his favorite position, he also plays offense. When Noah first came to Del Mar, he didn’t know anyone; playing basketball helped him socially to make friends.
Noah loves the sport and plans to continue playing for fun, stating “I don’t think I’m that good, but it’s definitely a sport I love, and I won’t stop playing, even though it might be just for fun.”
