On Oct. 18, Del Mar hosted their Homecoming game against Silvercreek High School.

JV Dons played first, losing 8-6 to the Silver Creek Raiders.

Roger Leal, a JV football player acknowledges his effort, “I worked really hard during the off-season, so I’m proud of myself.”

The varsity Dons then went on to face a 31-0 loss to the Silver Creek.

“Tonight is a learning experience. It was a step up in class. You know, we moved up from the C league to the B league. Tonight, we found out what the B League was all about. You know, it’s bigger, stronger, faster, and so if we’re going to compete with that, we got to get better.” Coach Chapman Comments.

There were a couple of struggles the Dons faced throughout the game such as fumbling the ball and their defensive blocking scheme.

Sophomore Eli Lenihan was nominated as MVP by his coach, who stated “We’ve been putting in a lot of work, practicing hard all summer. We started off pretty good, but losing definitely hurt.”
