The boys JV volleyball team defeated Leland High School Tuesday March 18. The score being 25-9 the first set and 25-21 the second set.

Mike Aitken, the jv boys coach says he thinks they could have done much better but he knows being a young team they will improve.

“A lot of them are first year players but they are getting a lot better,” Aitken said.

Aitken said some key takeaways were when the boys got down a couple times and got the ball back up. He says some aspect of his game plan were the attacks the boys did on the net.

“The next game I think they could focus more and not get so cocky,” Aitken said about the game overall.

Lucas Morokuma, a freshman, said some challenges he and his team faced was miscommunication and having bad passes.

“I hit two outsides doing a spike and I think that’s something I could have done better on,” Morokum said.

“I feel that the game after all was pretty good and felt pretty easy,” Morokum said.

Freshman Jayson Cabatcha said something he could have done better this game was spiking. Cabatcha says he and the team cheered each other on with chants whenever they felt brought down.

“I think this game went pretty well and we had a good score,” Cabatcha said about the game overall.
