What is BOTC week

SB’s annual Battle of the Classes (BOTC) is underway this week, featuring a series of competitive events between the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes. The aim is to accumulate the most points through participation in spirit days, lunch games, rally games, and class performances.

The spirit days scheduled for the week are:

Dress Like a Movie Character: Students dress as their favorite movie characters.

Rhyme Without a Reason: Pairs dress in costumes with rhyming names.

White Lie Day: Students wear shirts with humorous, obvious lies about themselves.

Students vs. Teachers: Students dress as teachers and teachers dress as students.

Class Color: Students wear their class colors—freshmen in orange, sophomores in yellow, juniors in green, and seniors in purple.

Participants can check in at the gym to earn points for their class. During lunch, students can compete in a different game each day, including:

Tug of War in Socks: A shoeless tug of war.

Musical Chairs: The classic party game.

Sticky Pickup: One person is covered in duct tape, and teammates throw cards to stick on them.

Fill the Bucket: Teams pass a water-soaked T-shirt to fill an empty bucket.

Hungry Hippo: Teams of two, with one pushing a cart and the other on the cart collecting as many balls as they can.

The class that wins these lunch games earns additional points. Friday night’s rally will feature more games and class dances, contributing to the final score. BOTC concludes with the class that has earned the most points declared the winner.
