This year Dons are hosting their first dance of the second trimester. The dance is called Bailemos and it will be hosted in the quad and cafeteria Jan.31, from 7-10 PM. The corridos club will be playing as well as DJ, and there will be a taco truck.
Margaret Lopez, a Senior, and the organizer of this dance, said,“Planning this dance has been relatively easy because I’m Hispanic so I know what the aesthetic of it should look like.”
Lopez says the event will have decorations such as Papel Picado, Mexican Mantels, and candy on tables. Lopez states the food options will be tacos with Asada, chicken,or Al pastor from the taco truck.
“drinks will be Agua Fresca and Horchata,” Lopez said.
Lopez says music will be selected by a list they will have and students will be able to suggest Mexican music to play. Lopez explains that her inspiration for the dance comes from Mexican images she explored on Pinterest, “Mexican parties are really fun so I want to try and have that kind of vibe.”
Lopez mentions that she and ASB will begin setting up at 6:30 PM, and she adds,“but I feel that if anyone wants to help they can come.”
