Mayah Cato is a senior at Del Mar High School. She is a cheerleader who got interested as a freshman when she saw an ad on Instagram to try out for the school team. It was a way for her to keep up with dancing — she used to take up to six classes a week. Mayah likes to bake, sew, and read in her free time. She started baking to help her mom in the kitchen and then began to bake during holidays, now baking as a hobby. She would like to attend a four-year college out of state to earn a degree in medicine or a Ph.D. in science. Her passion for writing and talking with people led her to become the lead editor of the Del Mar Dispatch.
