As a new freshman, finals can be a nerve-racking thing to experience. Many have trouble with the new feel of highschool, adjusting to the intensity of finals week. Students might struggle with remembering important information for their classes, while also balancing their personal life and sleep schedule.
In order to help with this, on December 17, Del Mar High School will be holding “Cocoa and Cram” in the cafeteria after school from 3 PM to 5 PM! This is a freshman exclusive event, and all freshmen are encouraged to attend, as it will be a study session for all classes and subjects. Hot chocolate and snacks will be provided during the event as well.
Romeo Moran, a class of 2028 student says “I am kind of nervous for finals, but I’m also feeling confident because I’ve been studying for all of my classes. I might go to Cocoa and Cram with some of my friends”.
Another freshman, Zoe Ta, feels similarly about the topic, saying “Yes, [I’m] very nervous. Especially for spanish.”
Cocoa and Cram is a fun and helpful small event to give freshmen an extra helping hand before the stress of finals begins. Teachers will be supervising and tutoring any students with questions about the material they need to study before the first day of finals, December 18.
